The global objective of this module is providing the learners (Volunteer tutors) with specific knowledge, guidelines and educational materials to teach Spanish to migrants students (third-country nationals) with the aim of performing tasks facing them in situations from domains of personal and social existence (public, occupational and educational).
The module is based on a communicative, action-oriented and student-centred approach, as recommended by the Common European Framework of reference languages for (CEFR), giving priority to equip students with resources to engage in communicative situations essential for their integration, above formal language issues.
The contents for the three learning units are divided into thematic categories addressing various specific themes depending on the relevant area, followed by a set of educational strategies, recommendations and proposed supporting educational activities and tools to implement in the classroom.
After finalising this module, Volunteer tutors will be able to teach the following specific competencies to third-country nationals students, which are divided into major categories of language use, according to the CEFR, level A2:

-Understand enough to be able to meet needs of a concrete type of predictable everyday matters (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment, directions, transports) provided speech is clearly and slowly articulated.
Reading
-Understand short, simple texts on familiar matters of a concrete type which consist of high-frequency everyday or job-related language.
Speaking
-Interact with reasonable ease in structured situations and short conversations, provided the other person helps if necessary.
-Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
Writing
-Write a series of simple phrases and sentences linked with simple connectors like ‘and’, ‘but’ and ‘because’, about everyday aspects, family, living conditions, educational background, present or most recent job.
